Veritable

Veritable was a fund manager based in Pennsylvania. The firm's mission was to provide wealthy individuals and families with highly informed, objective investment advice and a disciplined framework for making tax-efficient financial decisions while maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of its business. Veritable was a registered investment advisor, originally founded in 1986 as Stolper & Co. In 1997, with the union of Stolper & Co. and Family Wealth Management, a division of PNC bank, the group was renamed Hawthorn. Seven years later, the senior people who managed Hawthorn led a management buyout, ending the PNC ownership. After the buyback, the firm returned to its original form, re-registering as a management-owned registered investment advisor, and was renamed Veritable, L.P. In June 2012, Veritable accepted Affiliated Managers Group (AMG) as a majority investor, while maintaining full operating control of the firm. The senior team made long term commitments to the firm and will continue to hold significant equity interests. The firm was acquired by Pathstone in 2023.Read more ⏷
