Union Square Park Capital Management (USPCM) is a New York-based hedge fund manager founded in April 2015 by Leon Zaltzman, who previously handled special situations investments at Nantahala Capital and Aristeia Capital. USPCM combines an opportunistic, event-driven investment approach with a value philosophy, focusing on companies undergoing changes in its operations, management, and/or capitalization. It favors situations with an identifiable catalyst that are complex, misunderstood, and/or underfollowed. The investment framework involves an analysis of the entire capital structure of companies in transition and allows for flexibility across sectors and geographies. Another key element of the investment approach is combining bottom-up fundamental analysis with a deep understanding of process-related risks and outcomes.
