Surveyor Capital is a seeding platform for long/short equity hedge fund managers and it was set up by John Venetos in 2008 as a subsidiary of Citadel. It also employs a global long/short equity multi-manager strategy of its own. Portfolio managers at the firm use a fundamental, bottom-up research process and primary due diligence to construct portfolios that focus on alpha generation while remaining beta-neutral. Each portfolio is typically focused on one of seven industry sector groups. These are communications, media, and entertainment, consumer, energy and utilities, financials, healthcare, industrials, and technology.
