Solus Alternative Asset Management (Solus) is a New Jersey-based hedge fund manager that was founded in June 2007 when the hedge fund strategies group of Stanfield Capital Partners separated to form an independent firm under Chris’ continued leadership. The entire team and track record remained intact throughout this transition, and as such, Sola Ltd’s (Solus’ flagship fund) track record dates back to January 2002. In March of 2012, Chris added veteran high-yield and distressed specialists, Scott Martin, and C.J. Lanktree as new partners and portfolio managers. On March 13, 2015, Solus entered into a strategic partnership with affiliates of Blackstone, when a Blackstone affiliate acquired a minority equity interest in Solus. The majority ownership of Solus remains with the active partners. The firm's portfolio managers serve jointly as co-portfolio managers for all capital managed by the firm. It believes that this approach provides significant depth to its investment platform, augmenting the firm’s ability to invest through multiple market cycles and implementing an investment approach that places emphasis on value creation, alpha generation, and low correlation to primary asset classes.Read more ⏷
