Siraj Capital Ltd was founded in 2005 by Dr. Ghassan AlSulaiman and Mr. Ibrahim Mardam-Bey. The firm has offices in Jersey, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Siraj aims to be recognized as a leading regulated boutique merchant investment and finance company in the Saudi, GCC and MENA markets, by delivering and managing best-in-class Shariah compliant investment opportunities and services, to investors, clients, and shareholders. The firm also has established a deep Saudi Arabian & MENA based network of partners, advisors and service providers who assist in the sourcing of proprietary investment and advisory opportunities and who provide world-class support services. Siraj Capital uses capital from its balance sheet to invest in operating companies, whilst inviting existing shareholders and strategic third parties to co-invest. The Group completed a capital raise exercise in 2009. In Q4 2011, the Dubai Financial Services Authority withdrew the licence of Siraj Capital, citing failure for not maintaining adequate capital resources. The firm is no longer active.
