Seelaus Asset Management

Seelaus Asset Management (Seelaus AM) is a New Jersey based hedge fund manager established in 1984. The firm primarily focuses on managing fixed-income portfolios. In 2013, the family acquired R. Seelaus & Co., previously owned by Richard Seelaus since 1984 in Summit, NJ. Seeking to broaden its offerings in equity portfolio management, Granite Springs acquired Sunnymeath Asset Management, a regional registered investment advisor (RIA) based in Red Bank, NJ, in April 2017. Sunnymeath, founded by James O'Mealia in 1996, specializes in equity-focused RIA services. In November 2018, Granite Springs was rebranded as Seelaus Asset Management to create a more cohesive family brand and leverage the parent company's name. In December 2018, a Seelaus AM group restructuring converted the existing owner into a holding company structure. This new structure owns the group's entities, moving away from the broker-dealer directly owning the asset manager. The broker-dealer assets, previously under R. Seelaus & Co., transitioned to a new limited liability company called R. Seelaus & Co., LLC. The existing R. Seelaus & Co., Inc. now serves as the holding company for the Seelaus group, which wholly owns the U.S. SEC broker-dealer R. Seelaus and Co., LLC, and RIA Seelaus Asset Management, LLC. Both entities maintain their commitment to providing exceptional financial services. In 2015, Seelaus AM achieved certification as an NJ-certified women's Business Enterprise. Furthermore 2017, Seelaus AM obtained the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification, allowing the firm to cater to investors seeking opportunities to invest with Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) managers.
