Samena Asia Managers (SAM) was the hedge fund seeding arm of Samena Capital Management. Formerly known as Vision Asia Pacific, it was renamed Samena Asia Managers after its acquisition by Samena Capital Management in May 2009. It considered itself as a hedge funds seeding platform, rather than a fund of hedge fund manager. Hence, SAM took a long perspective towards its investments and aimed to generate returns not solely from its hedge fund commitments, but also by actively providing management advice to its portfolio investees. Its hedge fund seeding vehicle, the Samena Angel Fund, reached the end of its seven-year life in January 2014.
