It has no outside capital and approaches investments with a long-term perspective. River Birch Partners employs a patient timeline to investing under numerous investment scenarios, including the sale of a family business, MBOs, corporate divestitures, and recapitalizations. It prefers to make investments in companies based in the Eastern half of the U.S., but it will also consider investments in the Northern Rockies. The firm does not invest in start-ups or early stage.
