Resurgence Asset Management is the distressed securities unit of M.D. Sass. Successfully employed by M.D. Sass as a stand-alone strategy since 1989, its distressed securities portfolios capitalise on the investment opportunities that can be found among financially distressed companies. Resurgence targets controlling investments as it allows it to exert its influence in the reorganisation process. Resurgence focuses on identifying undervalued securities selling at depressed prices, usually due to a combination of excessive leverage and temporary adverse environment conditions. Using the M.D. Sass network Resurgence has the flexibility to invest throughout the reorganisation process at all levels of the capital structure, and possesses the necessary investment and due diligence experience needed.
