Established in 2007, PhaseCapital (Phase) was a Boston-based hedge fund manager, founded by a team of financial professionals and academic researchers. The firm's heritage included operating as a market maker in the equity-listed securities markets and the management of relevant risks at higher frequency timescales that spun out its market-making effort in 2011 and focused on developing a systematic macro strategy that was launched in 2012. It governed itself by three principles: measure rather than the forecast, be dynamic rather than static and focus on risk rather than return. As of April 2019, Phase has liquidated all of its hedge fund vehicles and ceased operations.
