Paul Capital

Founded by Philip S. Paul in 1991, Paul Capital is an investment management firm focused on secondary private equity investments. The firm has focused on purchasing assets globally, including in the emerging markets, primarily through mid-sized, proprietary, structured transactions supported by “bottom-up” due diligence and investment analyses. Paul Capital has raised USD 6 billion in subscriptions to date across two investment platforms, with more than USD 5 billion dedicated to secondary transactions. The firm’s work has resulted in approximately 175 closed secondary transactions and approximately USD 2.1 billion in offered co-investments. These transactions in the aggregate represent more than 300 fund sponsors that manage approximately 600 private equity investment funds and over 5,700 underlying portfolio companies. Paul Capital also manages investments in pharmaceutical and healthcare royalty, revenue, equity and debt interests from healthcare companies, institutions and inventors. Paul Capital was put up for sale in 2013 with private equity fund of funds manager Hamilton Lane considering its purchase. By Q1 2014, Hamilton had ended its interest however and Paul Capital was to reportedly wind down operations as a result of the failed sale.Read more ⏷
