Optima Fund Management (Optima) is a hedge fund manager based in New York. It was founded in July 1988 by Dixon Boardman and aims to deliver investment solutions for its clients that offer both downside protection and upside participation in all market environments. In 1991, Optima introduced global strategies to its equity products, followed by multi-strategy products in 1999. Its product offerings include a fund of hedge funds, customized separate account portfolios of hedge funds, and specialized single-manager funds. In June 2000, Optima formed a strategic alliance with Mellon Private Wealth Management, which became a distributor of Optima investment products to US-based high-net-worth investors alongside Optima itself. Optima offers both commingled and custom-tailored separate account fund of hedge funds programs across a variety of strategies. On July 1, 2019, Forbes Family Trust acquired Optima. In February 2021, FWM Holdings, the owner of FFT Wealth Management, LGL Partners, and Optima Asset Management, merged with Stanhope Capital Group, creating a combined enterprise with a presence spanning Europe and the US.
