Octavian Advisors was founded by Richard Hurowitz and Gregory N. Racz in 2006. The firm invested in distressed debt and other credit opportunities, equity special situations, non-performing loans, non-traditional assets and private transactions. Octavian was headquartered in New York and had affiliate offices in London, UK, Shanghai, China, Taipei, Auckland, New Zealand and Kampala, Uganda. Octavian Advisors closed down in Q4 2012 and cited its failure to generate attractive absolute returns in difficult market conditions as the reason behind its liquidation.
