Established in 1999, Midas Asset Management is a South Korea-domiciled investment manager based in Seoul. The firm engages in a variety of investments from those in alternatives to traditional mutual funds. In the alternative space, the firm employs core and core-plus strategies towards a wide range of assets including office, retail, hotel, and logistics properties both domestically and globally. The firm also manages hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and private debt, primarily a long/short equity fund, from its Singapore-based subsidiary. The firm's hedge fund arm adopts a combination of bottom-up, top-down, and research-based model portfolio, engaging in active investment management. Its client base spans corporations, pension funds, government entities, insurance companies, banks, financial institutions, and industry associations. While the majority of its equity investment comes from domestic institutional investors, the firm actively looks to expand its global partnerships, particularly through its long/short equity strategy fund. It does not currently operate an SMA-structured fund but is open to pursuing opportunities via further discussions with investors. The private equity arm focuses on a wide range of industries from consumer discretionary to artificial intelligence in the domestic market. The private debt arm focuses on a wide range of industries from consumer discretionary to artificial intelligence in the domestic market, investing in mezzanine securities such as convertible bonds.
