Kiwoom Asset Management

Established in 1988, Kiwoom Asset Management is a South Korea-domiciled investment management firm based in Seoul. The firm was initially founded under the name Lucky Investment Consulting and later changed its name to Woori Asset Management (from a merger with Woori Investment Trust) in 2005. In 2014, the merger of Woori Asset Management and Kiwoom Asset management has ultimately brought about the firm's current entity. Today, it is a member of the Daou Kiwoom Group. Kiwoom Asset Management provides indirect investment management services, consulting services and other ancillary services primarily to institutions in the domestic South Korea market. For real estate, it employs core and value-added strategies towards a wide range of assets, namely residential, office, data centers and hotel properties located in South Korea as well as overseas, including Germany and the US. The firm also focuses on private equity investments. For infrastructure, the firm's investment focus is primarily on overseas IPP, infrastructure assets and natural resources related to the steel and power industry, currently expanding to other industries. Under its hedge funds arm, it invests in asset classes including domestic and foreign stocks, bonds, over-the-counter derivatives, mezzanine, and yield securities.
