John Locke Investments (JLI) was an independent alternative asset management company serving the needs of a wide range of international clients. Based in Paris and Fontainebleau (France), the firm aimed to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns across a range of asset classes and markets (equities, currencies, equity indices, bonds, and commodities). JLI was founded in 2001 and its core business was that of quantitative fund management: generating investment decisions derived from quantitative research analysis. JLI investment strategies were offered in the form of UCITS, onshore & offshore funds, private-label funds, and managed accounts. JLI was regulated by the French AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers), was registered with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and as a Commodity Pool Operator (CPO), and was a member of the US National Futures Association (NFA). The firm closed in January 2022 and is no longer active in the investment space.
