Janus Henderson Emerging Markets Private Investments, formerly known as NBK Capital Partners or NBK Capital, is an alternative investment management firm based in UK. Originally formed in 2005 as the Alternative Investments Group of NBK Capital, a subsidiary of the National Bank of Kuwait, the group re-branded in 2015 as NBK Capital Partners. NBKCP invests in control or a significant minority position. The firm buys family-owned businesses, provides growth capital for organic growth initiatives, industry consolidations, and buy-and-build situations, and supports the buyout of shareholders. NBK Capital Partners targets mid-market companies in consumer discretionary, consumer staples, education, healthcare, industrials, and energy sectors. The private debt arm of the firm makes mezzanine investments in either conventional or shariah-compliant financing structures in the form of senior, subordinated, or convertible debt as well as convertible preferred equity in mid-market companies in consumer discretionary, consumer staples, education, healthcare, industrials, and energy sectors. The firm's real estate arm focuses on opportunities in industrial, education, medical/healthcare, office, and retail properties across the GCC, Middle East, and North Africa.
