Impala Asset Management (Impala) was a Florida-based hedge fund manager founded in Q1 of 2004 by Robert Bishop, a former portfolio manager at Tiger Management. The firm employed long/short equity investments in the US and international markets. Its investment process combined deep, bottom-up research with extensive sector expertise complemented by a macro perspective. Impala managed a sufficiently concentrated portfolio that sought to take advantage of the natural volatility in companies within basic industries such as autos, capital goods, basic materials, and energy.
