Highland Peak Capital (HPC) is a Connecticut-based hedge fund manager established in 2019 by Graham Morris. The firm approaches the equity market with a distressed framework, where it leverages its distressed expertise to invest long/short in dislocated stocks across North America. It focuses on companies with credit concerns, post-bankruptcy equities, other dislocated stocks, and special situations. HPC conducts rigorous fundamental analysis and aims to employ high investment hurdles. It will only invest opportunistically when it believes a compelling investment presents itself. While this may lead to higher cash balances, it believes that this approach drives superior returns, then applies this methodology on the short side as well, and believes that it could help drive differentiated short returns. It intends to aggressively employ its short expertise in bear markets as witnessed in March 2020. As a result, this target holds in both bull and bear markets.
