About

Hicks, Muse, & Co. was established in 1989 by Thomas O. Hicks and John R. Muse. The firm’s name was changed to Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst in 1994 to reflect the roles of Charles Tate and Jack Furst. Tate retired from the firm in June 2002 and Hicks in December 2004. The company’s European arm split from the company in January 2005 and is now called Lion Capital. Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst renamed itself HM Capital Partners in March 2006. Today, HM Capital Partners manages the legacy domestic funds of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst and Lion Capital manages the legacy Europe Fund.
