Founded in 2013, Garde Asset Management ("Garde") was an investment management firm based in São Paulo, Brazil. Its structure included professionals from different specialties and complementary skills, focusing mainly on 3 asset classes: equity (both in Brazil and internationally) currency and interest rate. In terms of strategy, the firm had a predominant preference for macro alongside equity (long bias). The investment process was structured with a main portfolio manager who allocates resources to different "boxes" based on macroeconomic outlook. Each "box" was managed by a different portfolio manager determined by risk budgeting. The firm had been investing in quantitative analysis, forming a team of specialized systematic traders who are increasingly taking positions in the portfolios. Garde took into consideration ESG factors before making investment decisions, without directing a specific portfolio for the theme.
