Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds formerly known as Morse Energy Capital Partners (“MECP”) is a Denver, Colorado-based private investment firm that focuses on lower middle market oil and gas financing opportunities in North America. The firm typically targets privately-negotiated structured equity, working interest and credit investment opportunities that seek to generate an attractive current yield profile supported by producing reserves. Fulcrum's investment strategy is designed to capitalize on opportunistic, and often contrarian, investing across the capital structure. Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds's primary approach to building asset values is through active ownership and unique industry relationships. Under normal market conditions, the firm seeks to take size-able positions in smaller companies, enabling the firm to influence business strategy and operational efficiency. MEC also focuses on opportunistic investing. The firm will typically structure positions in equity, debt, and working interest instruments with the flexibility to either hold the investment or receive a substantial ownership stake through a negotiated financing structure. At the beginning of 2019, Morse Energy Capital has rebranded to be called Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds.
