Crocus Investment Fund

Crocus Investment provided private equity funding to Manitoba-based companies. Individual investors could purchase shares in a pool of assets to raise the necessary capital with the objective of achieving long-term appreciation for its shareholders. Crocus invested in small and mid-sized companies and invested in approximately 55 different companies. In 2004-05, the company stopped trading and was forced into receivership following allegations that it misled shareholders and overvalued its assets. Deloitte & Touche was appointed Receiver and Manager of Crocus Investment Fund (“Crocus”) by the Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench pursuant to an application made by the Manitoba Securities Commission.
