Established in June 2009, Coastal Investment Management (Coastal) is a California-based value-focused hedge fund manager founded by Vlad Artamonov and Todd Plutsky. Before founding the firm, Mr. Artamonov spent approximately 6 years at David Einhorn's special situations focused Greenlight Capital hedge fund, while Mr. Plutsky was with Ivory Investment Management and Canyon Capital Advisors. Coastal employs a long/short equity strategy that focuses on special situations. The firm's flagship fund, Coastal Investment Partners, was launched in July 2009.
