Clovis Capital Management

Clovis Capital Management was a hedge fund manager based in New York formed in June 2002. The firm was established to invest and trade principally in publicly traded equity securities. Michael Prober and William Cline, Jr. owned and controlled Clovis. They had previously been partners at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn in New York. The firm was established to invest the founders' personal capital and to build a business to serve like-minded investors. Mr. Prober was the portfolio manager and Mr. Cline was the chief executive officer. The Clovis principals believed that being creative in idea generation and applying intense and original company research to the less efficient segments of the US equity market provided an excellent opportunity to generate attractive relative and absolute returns. The investment manager believed that successful investing requires consistent execution of a flexible yet repeatable process, based upon a sound and time tested philosophy, and they focused on identifying companies - that were neglected or there was negative sentiment - with an identifiable catalyst or a significant event surrounding the company or its industry - with current valuations that suggested a discount to what the investment manager deemed to be the most appropriate metric.Read more ⏷
