CAS Investment Partners (CAS) is a Connecticut-based hedge fund manager. It was founded by Clifford Sosin in 2012. The firm aims to purchase a concentrated portfolio of tradable credit and equity instruments on both long and short bases, to achieve better performance than the S&P 500 over time. CAS does not maintain any particular directional market bias or asset class preference. Instead, the firm's overall market and asset class exposure is based on its opinion of risks and expected returns of individual securities. Before starting CAS, Clifford worked as a director in the fundamental investment group of UBS. He was also an analyst at Silver Point Capital before joining UBS.
