Caius Capital (Caius) is a London-based hedge fund manager focusing on opportunistic investments across a range of capital structures. They focus on stressed, distressed, and other event driven investments globally, with a primary focus on liquid European credit instruments. The firm was founded in 2016 by António Batista (previously partner and portfolio manager for European distressed credit at Och-Ziff) and Will Douglas (formerly managing director, prime brokerage at Goldman Sachs). Caius is 100% employee-owned. Partner/employee investments account for >10% of total firm-wide AUM. Its business is built on three core pillars - investment themes, research, and risk management (the Caius IRR) - which it believes are its core differentiators. Caius' investment team is comprised of sector-specialist, regional-specialist, and generalist investment expertise, coupled with diverse language skills and in-house legal experience. These are enhanced by an extensive network of external advisors and consultants.
