BTG Pactual is a Brazilian-based investment bank and fund management firm that focuses on emerging markets, with a dominant base in Latin America. The firm started its operations as a proprietary trading house in Rio de Janeiro and rapidly expanded to different segments and countries. Today, the bank operates across a variety of segments (investment banking, sales & trading, asset management, wealth management, and alternative assets), and has multiple offices around the globe. The bank provides a variety of products and services within the alternative assets space. The firm Private Capital Division, responsible for Private Equity, Infrastructure, Impact Investing, and Venture Capital was launched in 2005 and has more than eleven funds raised to date, with a focus for Latin American companies. BTG also identifies and executes investment opportunities in real estate assets and projects, including residential and commercial developments, commercial properties for lease, shopping malls, as well as properties for logistics projects. Additionally, its global hedge fund team operates through the subsidiary BTG Pactual Asset Management, an international asset management platform that provides emerging market and global investment products to an international client base.
