Black Ant Investment Management was a London-based hedge fund manager that had been a value investor since its inception in July 2004. The firm was a long-biased, long-term-orientated value investor, seeking to identify undervalued assets across the corporate structure. Its strategy invested in publicly traded equities and high-yielding single name corporate credits. The investment process was driven by a bottom-up approach that emphasized the characteristics of the particular investment while also applying a top-down view to maintain consistency with its macro outlook and to control for risks extraneous to the asset itself. The portfolio was constructed with a continual focus on risk-adjusted returns. In 2019, the firm closed its hedge funds and capital was returned to investors.
