AZ Quest

AZ Quest is a Sao Paulo-based hedge fund manager established in 2001. It aims to achieve absolute returns through a diversified platform of investment funds in different strategies, mainly focusing on macro and equity (both long bias and long/short). In April 2015, the firm became part of the Azimut Group (based in Italy) resulting in its re-branding from Quest Investimentos to AZ Quest. Investments are originated via field research at the companies analyzed, sector research, and use of different valuation models; the macroeconomic scenario serves as a backdrop. The investment process consists of portfolio managers analyzing a pool of 150-200 companies and implementing 20-30 positions in the portfolio. Most positions implemented are structural, seeking to trade on long-term movements, but tactical positions are also utilized to exploit short-term market fluctuations. The firm follows a model of partnership and meritocracy in which most of the investment team is associated with the company in a policy of alignment of incentives between managers, stockholders, and investors.Read more ⏷
