Artio Global Investors was a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. The firm offered investment strategies in the form of separate accounts, commingled and mutual funds and was headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Los Angeles, Toronto, London and Sydney, Australia. The firm looked to take advantage of mispriced securities in developed and emerging markets. Artio Global Investors was a unit of Zurich wealth manager Julius Baer. The firm's indirect subsidiary, Artio Global Management was a registered investment advisor. In May 2013, Aberdeen Asset Management completed the acquisition of Artio Global Investors and as a result Aberdeen became the manager to the Artio funds which were rebranded under the Aberdeen name. Artio Global Investor's fund managers moved to Aberdeen to manage the portfolios.
