Founded in 2008, Aquantum Group is a Munich-based hedge fund manager managed by Thomas Morrow, former Winton Capital Senior Scientist. The firm is a commodity trading asset manager and specialist strategy provider with a strict focus on systematic absolute-return trading strategies in the commodity space. It has many years of experience in the systematic trading world. The firm trades two systematic investment programs; both harvest a unique source of alpha by exploiting recurring inefficiencies in the commodity futures markets (seasonality). The programs are market neutral, i.e. have no directional exposure to commodity markets, thus are non-correlated to commodity spot prices and also show virtually no correlation to other asset classes. Further, the strategies follow a time-based approach, which they believe is the best way to capture alpha from seasonal moves.
