Aldus Equity was a US-based private equity advisory and fund of funds firm. The firm was established in 2003 as a buyout of part of Holbein Associates and is entirely employee-owned. Aldus Equity specialised on focusing on domestic and European private equity investing and actively sourced emerging managers. In September 2009, Aldus Equity was winding down its investment activities following the controversy relating to its involvement in the ‘pay-to-play’ scheme which corrupted the New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF). As of October 2009, Aldus Equity has ceased to exist.
