Achievement Asset Management ("Achievement"), formerly known as PEAK6 Advisors LLC, was formed in September 2005. Achievement was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with an office in London. Along with acting as a sub-advisor to certain mutual funds, Achievement managed the Achievement Funds (the "Fund") and the Achievement XL Funds, each of which invested in the Achievement Master Fund. The Fund’s strategy mainly combined elements of strategies known as fundamental long/short equity and credit trading, complemented by relative value and convertibles. In general, the fund attempted to avoid investments in illiquid and hard to value assets but rather focused on liquid securities allowing for timely adjustments. The investment team covered financials, consumers, industrials, TMT and natural resources, with the majority of its positions in U.S. and Canadian issuers and exposure to European and U.K. issuers.
