The Absalon Corporate Credit Team was led by Klaus Blaabjerg who formed the team in 2006. The team had remained stable since its inception with no departures. Each team member had the dual role of portfolio manager and analyst which allows for short lines of communication and a team which was collegiate in style. In addition, the team owned 35% of the equity of their business which ensured an alignment of interests between the team and their investors. The assets of Absalon Corporate Credit (“Absalon”) have been acquired by Impax Asset Management (“Impax”), the specialist asset manager investing in the transition to a more sustainable economy. As part of the acquisition, Absalon portfolio management team, have resigned from Absalon and have joined the Impax Fixed Income team. The Absalon Global High Yield and Emerging Market Corporate Debt funds have merged into Impax’s Irish UCITS umbrella.
