9823 Capital is a Texas-based hedge fund manager, established in 1998 and relaunched in 2023. It implements long/short equity strategies and invests in publicly traded common stocks and other equity securities of U.S. corporations, purchase equity securities of foreign corporations, purchase bonds (including high-yield debt securities), notes, and other debentures. It also engages in short sales (both speculatively and as a hedge of other investments), purchase or write options of any and all types, including options on equity securities, stock market indices, over-the-counter options, debt securities, and foreign currencies. The firm holds cash-equivalent investments under certain market conditions and invests in securities denominated in currencies other than the U.S. Dollars, invests in securities located in other countries, and contracts out a portion of the fund's assets to third parties.
