Based in Paris, France, and founded in 2011, Ynsect SAS (Ynsect) is a vertically integrated insect farm that produces organic alternative proteins and fertilizers from insects. The company was co-founded by Antoine Hubert (CEO), Jean-Gabriel Levon, Fabrice Berro, and Alexis Angot, and in 2021, the firm received the B Corp certification. In December 2025, Ynsect SAS discontinued its operations. Ynsect engages in the breeding and processing of insects for the production of natural protein solutions for pets, fish, plants, and human beings.
The company’s animal nutrition product line includes Ÿnmeal, a powdered product formulated from Molitor larvae, and Ÿnoil, an oil that contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, developed for pets, aquaculture, and poultry. Additionally, Ynsect offers a human nutrition product called AdalbaPro, a food ingredient that contains amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. Furthermore, the firm provides ŸnFrass, natural insect-based fertilizer for plants. Ynsect SAS generates revenue by producing and selling premium insect-based protein ingredients and natural fertilizers for animal feed, plant nutrition, and human consumption using patented vertical farming technology globally.
