Based in Beijing, China and founded in 2017, Unicorn (Beijing) Technology Co. , Ltd. , trading as XREAL, operates as an augmented reality (AR) device developer that provides consumer AR glasses. It built a research and development Center in Wuxi in September 2020. As of 2024, there are more than 400 employees in XREAL. In January 2026, XREAL closed a venture funding. The company is committed to the research, development, design, and manufacturing of consumer-grade AR glasses such as XREAL Air 2, XREAL X, etc.
The flagship XREAL Light MR glasses are lightweight, comfortable, and sport a wide Field of View (FoV), which was first unveiled at 2019's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. XREAL has built solutions covering industry, education, culture, tourism, medical and other industries. It also provides software development toolkits for developers. The company's revenue is generated by providing consumer AR glasses.
