Founded in 1993 and based in Ohio, US, WorldPay, LLC, formerly known as RBS WorldPay, operates as a provider of retail payment processing technology and solutions. The company started its business as an electronic payment system with the brand name Streamline, and in 2002 Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) acquired the firm and rebranded it as RBS Worldpay. In April 2025, Global Payments Inc. agreed to fully acquire WorldPay, LLC from GTCR and FIS Global for USD 24.

WorldPay Group plc’s customer base includes companies from the retail, airline, travel, gambling, and entertainment sectors. The recent funding enables WorldPay, LLC to enhance its global scale, expand customer reach, and provide a more comprehensive suite of payment solutions to its clients.
