Based in Indonesia, and founded in 2017, PT Volta Indonesia Semesta, doing business as Volta is an electric vehicle company that develops and manufactures environmentally friendly two-wheelers that run on electricity instead of fuel oil.  In November 2023, PT Volta Indonesia Semesta raised venture funding co-led by investors Twin Towers Ventures and Rigel Capital. As of 2023, the company operates from its office in Jakarta and a manufacturing facility located in Semarang, Central Java. The company’s partners include Telkomsel, Alfamart, Sentral Cargo, MCASH, and Sicepat.

The company manufactures electric motorcycles supported by advanced IoT technology and mobile applications for B2B, B2G, and B2C markets. Moreover, the firm offers motor vehicles in models including regular Volta, Volta S, Mandala, Virgo, and Volta Lite and offers all related spare parts with replaceable batteries to improve the longevity of the vehicle. Moreover, the company also provides all its vehicles on a rental basis.   The company intends to use the November 2023 funding to increase its network of battery-swapping stations, enhance its tech and digital platform, and grow its market.
