Founded in 1992 and based in the US, Verisys Corporation operates as a credentials verification organization that provides license and demographic data on healthcare providers. In March 2017, a consortium of investors led by Spectrum Equity, with Cressey & Company, along with the company's management, acquired a majority stake in Verisys Corporation for USD 75 million. In June 2021, Stone Point Capital acquired Verisys Corporation and merged with Aperture Credentialing, Inc. Additionally, following the transaction, Charlie Falcone, formerly CEO of Aperture Health, assumed the role of CEO.
Verisys acquired ReferencePro in 2011 and Accreditrust™ Technologies in 2016, and lastly, in 2021, Verisys acquired the Med Advantage Credentials Verification Organization business from Advantum Health. The company provides healthcare and workforce management organizations with data and technology platforms including FACIS, a database of 10 million records from 5,000 primary sources on provider exclusions, sanctions, and adverse events; FACIS Licensure, FACIS Data Verification & Monitoring - verifies professional licenses, status, issue and expiration dates, and any current or historical disciplinary actions; Credentials Verification Services; and directory management solutions. Verisys is certified and accredited with the NCQA and URAC.
