Founded in 2007 and based in California, US, User Testing, Inc. , also known as UserTesting, is a developer of an online cloud-based platform that provides real-time human insights through a custom test, enabling companies to understand how and why their target audience behavior throughout any experience. In March 2020, User Testing, Inc. raised USD 100 million in Series F venture funding led by Insight Partners, and participation from Accel, Greenspring Associates, and OpenView Venture Partners.
Also, UserTesting acquired UserMuse in January 2019, truthlab Technologies, Inc. in October 2019, and Teston in 2020. As of January 2025, the company is led by CEO Eric Johnson. User Testing provides a platform, Human Insight Platform, which allows companies to get feedback from customers on-demand so they can learn more about how to improve customer experiences.
User Testing's technology captures four streams of data including video, audio, facial expressions, and clickstream data. The company's other capabilities include templates, integration and plug-ins, and mobile testing. As of November 2020, UserTesting has approximately 2,000 subscription customers and has delivered human insights to over 35,000 companies. User Testing generates revenue through subscriptions to its product packages, which include essentials, advanced and ultimate.
User Testing plans to use the new funding 2020 to expand within Europe and Asia and improve its core product with machine learning smarts. UserTesting also plans to go on public on NYSE under the ticker symbol USER.
