The company is chaired by José María López Piñol as CEO. In February 2026, Blackstone and EQT agreed to fully acquire Urbaser, S. A. from Platinum Equity for approximately EUR 5.

The firm offers urban services such as services of municipal waste, street, and beach cleaning, and management of garden areas. Additionally, the firm offers waste treatment solutions and designs, develops, and finances activities along with construction, start-up, and maintenance of treatment and recycling facilities.
The company also offers anaerobic digestion and composting, energy recovery, stations transfer, and municipal and industrial waste disposal facilities. Urbaser SA also offers water management through its division, Socamex that develops tasks of the purification plants.
