In 2007, Madison Dearborn Partners, Providence Equity Partners, Saban Capital Group, Thomas H Lee Partners, TPG, Providence Equity Partners, Ridgemont Equity Partners, and Stockwell Capital acquired Univision in a public-to-private deal for approximately USD 13. 7 billion. Then in December 2020, Searchlight Capital Partners and ForgeLight LLC acquired a 64% majority stake in Univision and Televisa continues to hold its 36% ownership. The firm provides content for television, radio, internet, online entertainment content, and music platforms.
The company's media portfolio includes the Univision and UniMás broadcast networks, as well as cable networks Galavisión and TUDN, a Spanish-language sports network.
