Based in Brisbane, Australia, and founded in 2001 by David Finn, Tritium Pty Ltd operates as a developer and manufacturer of proprietary hardware and software to create direct current (DC) fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs). In May 2021, Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corporation agreed to acquire Tritium Pty Ltd. As a result of the business combination, Tritium will become a publicly listed company on the NASDAQ, trading under the ticker symbol DCFC. The transaction is valued at AUD 520 million, at AUD 10 per share.
In September 2021, the company had a private placement of AUD 40 million by Cigna Investments, Inc. Tritium Pty Ltd offers a range of EV chargers, including RT50, RTM, RT175-S, 350kW high-powered chargers, and CAN ethernet bridges. RT50 is a robust, reliable, and compact 50kw DC fast charger that is used to charge EVs. RTM is a 75kW DC fast charger that provides modular power units.
RT175-S is 175kW DC fast charger used by fleet and heavy commercial industries for charging EVs. Tritium Pty Ltd plans to continue scaling its global operations, with Singapore the first stage of that expansion. In addition, the company plans to use the proceeds from the private placement to continue scaling its global operations, including sales, administrative support and production during its ongoing business combination with Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corporation II.
