Based in Massachusetts, US, and founded in 1979, TPC Engineering Holdings, LLC, d. b. a Trexon operates as a producer of wires, cables, and interconnect assemblies for industrial applications. In 2021, TPC Wire formed the Trexon brand, which encompasses the brand portfolio of TPC, Pittsburgh Wire and Cable, MilRail, EZ Form Cable, CiCoil, Hydro Group, Integrated Cable Systems (ICS), and The First Electronics Corporation (FEC).
In May 2015, Audax Private Equity, along with the company management, acquired TPC Wire & Cable Corp. from Pfingsten Partners. As of Jan 2021, Jeff Crane serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. In January 2022, the company acquired Power Connector Inc.
In August 2025, Amphenol Corporation agreed to acquire Trexon for approximately USD 1 billion in cash from Audax Private Equity and PNC Mezzanine Capital. The deal was completed in November 2025. The company provides industry-leading flat, ribbon, coaxial, armored, and subsea cables for mission-critical applications via its multiple brands, such as TPC, MilRail, and Pittsburgh Wire and Cable. Trexon also offers industrial ruggedized cables, glands, cable storage/deployment, tapes/wraps, ferrules, connectors, tools, cable ties, heat shrink tubing, lugs, metal strip terminals, solderless terminals/kits, and more for demanding industrial applications.
