Founded in 2016 and based in Porto, Portugal, Tonic App, S. A. is a spin-off of the University of Porto. Tonic App was co-founded by Daniela Seixas, Andrew Barnes, and Dávid Borsós.

Tonic App offers a platform that assists doctors in diagnosing, treating, and referring patients by providing structured pathways for various conditions such as skin infections, heart failure, and Parkinson's disease. The app includes calculators for dosing antibiotics and other medications, as well as tools for checking drug interactions.

Additionally, the Tonic App includes educational games like Tonic Words and Tonic Quiz to help doctors stay engaged and up to date with medical terminology and clinical knowledge. In addition, the company offers weekly updates on job openings in various specialities, both in the private and public sectors, including cross-border opportunities.
