raised USD 30 million in Series B funding led by new investor Insight Venture Partners, with participation from returning investors Madrona Venture Group, Wing Venture Partners, and as of 2021, the company’s President & CEO is Ratan Tipirneni. Tigera provides cloud service for Kubernetes security and observability. Kubernetes is an open-source container orchestration system that is used by developers to automate the manual processes involved in the computer application’s deployment, scaling, and management lifecycle. Tigera also maintains a cloud-native open-source project called Project Calico/Calico Cloud that offers networking and network security solutions for containers, virtual machines, and native host-based workloads on platforms ranging from Kubernetes, OpenShift, to Docker EE, and OpenStack.

Tigera’s solutions enable users to manage pod-level access, securely connect to external data resources, accelerate troubleshooting, and extended enterprise security in Kubernetes environments. The company's products include Tigera Secure Enterprise Edition, Tigera Secure Cloud Edition, Tigera Essentials, and Tigera Calico, and its client base includes HanseMerkur, Merck, Finicity, Mindbody, RealPage, L3Harris, Discover, and AT&T.
