Founded in 2016, and based in Seine-et-Marne, France, The Mobilux Group operates as a holding company that owns But and Conforama. The company is a subsidiary of XXXLutz and Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. In November 2016, the company’s parent company, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, acquired BUT, a furniture retailer network in France, in a 50:50 partnership with WM Holding, and in September 2021, the company acquired Conforama France, a subsidiary of Steinhoff International. The company owns and operates home equipment retailer brands But and Conforama, through which it runs a network of retail stores and online stores selling home products, including furniture, large and small appliances, and consumer electronics.
As of 2021, the company had a network of 302 stores operating under the BUT brand and 172 stores operating under the Conforama and Confo! brands in France and the French overseas territories, along with e-commerce sites.
