About

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, and founded in 2016 by Pierre Quenneville, Tectonus operates as a seismic engineering company. The CEO of the company is Carl Beck. In April 2022, Tectonus raised NZD 8 million in venture funding led by new investor Pacific Channel, along with investors NZ Growth Capital Partners, K1W1, Nelson Angels, and Angel HQ. Tectonus provides structural solutions by developing seismic devices such as tension and compression braces, tension-only braces, columns and shearwalls, and moment resisting frames; storage tank solutions by developing tank hold device (RSFD) that provides seismic protection for storage tanks; and structural health monitoring solutions such as mechanical gauge and smart sensor system.

The company plans to use the funding to expand operations in Canada, Japan, and North America, and also plans to expand its New Zealand-based R&D team.
